Sciflyer released their debut homemade CD-EP in March 2001 to much critical acclaim (especially in Europe) and have even made the CMJ charts on several alternative/college radio stations in the US and Canada |

MELT is the second indie release from sciflyer; an innovative and entertaining trio from Alameda, CA. |

The three songs on this EP were recorded on an "80's model 1/2" eight track machine" lending an "old" classic feel to the songs and adds an interesting dimension to the listening experience. |

Staying true to their beach community roots; the songs have a slow, dreamy feel; giving you the feeling of hanging at the beach and soaking up the atmosphere. Each of the selections has a timeless quality; the perfect combination of slow surfer sound fused with acid rock. The musicianship of Steve Kennedy (guitar/vocals), Kim Kennedy (bass) and Roger Chandler (drums) was outstanding. They interplay between members was tight. |

They project a great amount of chemistry together. Initially I was disappointed by the seeming weakness of the vocals; but upon repeated listening, I found that they actually enhanced the mood of the music by seeming somewhat faded and faraway. |

This critic actually found their rendition of Powerline (originally done by husker du) to be of superior quality in interpretation and performance. Overall, an excellent production which leaves the listener wanting more. |
